CLAIRE LAMARQUE
Claire Lamarque is a French artist living in Dakar who uses her creativity to serve the causes that are close to her heart, through sculpture, drawing, and mobile, light and sound installations.
She favours working in groups, notably with Agit'Art, and the Collectif des Plasticiennes du Sénégal. She exhibits at major art events in Senegal such as DakArt Off, Partcours, DWG Artshow and in spaces dedicated to art such as Ker Thiossane, Arte Gallery, the French Cultural Institute, and the Henriette Bathily Women's Museum.
According to Ms. Lamarque, “The Anima series, drawings and sculptures, is the result of work based on live models in which the human body, male or female, is first represented as immobile and then progressively set in motion as if propelled by an inner awakening. "
