Open to women of all nationalities since 1987, The Dakar Women’s Group is a community of like-minded women located in and around Dakar. Our organization which now has over 200 members from over 50 countries, strives to create a friendly atmosphere for members, which feels like a home away from home. We share a sense of belonging, being connected as a community, as well as feeling supported. As an active member in The DWG, you are open to new opportunities, to thrive and discover your hidden talents!
Every year The DWG is looking for new volunteer members to to continue its ongoing mission of supporting local communities. Your talents, experiences, and skills are invaluable.
Becoming a Volunteer Member
To be a member of The DWG you need to pay 25,000cfa which is an annual membership fee. Membership activities run from September through June of the following year.
Being a member of The DWG you become part of a dynamic expatriate community in Dakar. This gives you an opportunity to not only make your stay meaningful, but to foster long lasting connections through members only activities such as coffee mornings, cocktail evenings, creative workshops.
You will participate in volunteer opportunities during our flagship events; such as The Art Show, Summer Fair, Christmas Bazaar and The Gala. These events are a huge undertaking and rely heavily on volunteer members’ skills and talents, therefore as a member, you are required to volunteer a minimum of 4 volunteer hours of your time.
