CHEICKY

Born in Dakar, Senegal in 1993, Seydina Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Chérif is a passionate visual artist, with an astonishing artistic aptitude.Signing his works under the pseudonym of Cheicky, he devotes himself to drawing and engraving, a passion he has had since childhood that started in primary school where he made his first pen sketches for his teachers.

Having studied at the Beaux Arts in Dakar to broaden his potential, Cheicky is now an accomplished artist for whom the love of painting and photography is strongly reflected in surrealist works. Through his art, we find engraving and writing which occupy a special place in his artistic production.

Inspired, touched and captivated by almost everything in his environment, Cheicky has always been an emotional and very sensitive person. His work is strongly influenced by the candid innocence of children. He draws his inspiration particularly from children in rural areas of Africa. According to him, he sees them as the embodiment of peace and harmony that we all seek in life. We are so absorbed in the things of the world that we forget the simplicity of life through the perspective of a child.
