SORAYA GHARIB

From an early age, Kaolack-born Soraya Gharib distinguished herself by her attraction to drawing and her skilful use of color.She worked as an architectural drawing assistant in the Senegalese capital until 2001. That year marked a decisive turning point: she moved to Paris. There, she developed a passion for Arabic calligraphy, which she practiced assiduously at the Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris workshops.  Painting came to her as a revelation, rekindling a burning passion that had been dormant since childhood.The artist's creative talent captures the soul of beauty, rendering it through a palette of warm colors evocative of Africa.She has taken part in various national and international solo and group exhibitions.
