SAADIO

Self-taught Mamadou Sadio Diallo depicts Senegalese society in a colorful pop-art style. He really got into painting at the time of the "Set Setal" movement in 1990, creating large-scale murals to embellish various Dakar neighborhoods. When he discovered the art of American painter Jean-Michel Basquiat in 2007, Saadio's painting was transformed. The accumulation of messages - political, childish, advertising and technical - on the walls of the city of Dakar forms the meaning of his works. 

Saadio has participated in solo and group exhibitions and auctions in Dakar, Bamako, Europe and the United States. 

He lives and works in Ouakam.
