BIBI SECK

Bibi Seck was born on August 14, 1965 in Paris and grew up in Dakar. A graduate of the École Supérieure de Design Industriel et de Graphisme (ESDI), he joined the design team at Renault.

In 2002, he resigned and moved to New York to set up a design agency with his partner Ayşe Birsel. From 2006 onwards, he moved back and forth between New York and Dakar, gradually forging close relationships with local artisans and Dakar's creative scene. Together with Fatimata Ly, he created a laboratory of life experiences they call DAKAR-NEXT.

Having never stopped drawing, Bibi also took up painting and developed a taste for it. At Partcours 2018, he exhibited for the first time some fifty drawings on tracing paper. 

In September 2020, he creates Quatorzehuit, a space dedicated to Contemporary Art and Design.
