BIDOUNGA

Bidounga was born in 1973 in Brazzaville. He is a self-taught painter and sculptor who draws his inspiration from the emulation of cities to capture the atmosphere of the crowds in the working-class districts of African cities, highlighting the presence of busty women who are partly inspired by the "Miké" style, a specificity of the Poto Poto School of Painters of which he was a free listener in his youth. Upstream, he develops a semi-abstract, mixed-media style inspired by African masks, in which reflection and questioning are interwoven to understand the complexity of the human being, his qualities and faults. 

His work has been exhibited in Congo, Senegal, Mauritania, the United States, France and Portugal. 

He lives and works in Spain. He has a permanent exhibition with Typic Arts Gallery in Dakar.
