Mahmoud Baba Ly, born in 1987 in Thiès, is a visual artist with an unquestionable artistic pedigree. Brought up in a family of creative craftsmen, his exceptional abilities were recognized early on, demonstrating a notable precociousness when he began his career as a painter at the age of 14. 

His works, which transcend the divide between figuration and abstraction, are described as subjective and engaged, a profound exploration of his personal experiences and environment.

Baba Ly's career has been marked by exhibitions and residencies in Senegal, Morocco, France and the United States, as well as major international exhibitions around the world.
