YVES GUSELLA

Yves Gusella paints canvases inspired by the scenes and colors of Senegalese life. The painter of Franco-Italian origin became Senegalese by adoption.

After a rich career in Europe, Gusella made his childhood dream happen and enrolled in the fine arts school of Grenoble at the age of 50 in order to begin a career in art. He was quickly inspired by painting with a knife and he began painting with oil paints on large canvases.

His motto is  “I never stop capturing and trying to assimilate the light and color to transfer them onto the canvas.”

Mr. Gusella has been in Senegal since 2011, and for five years he gave visual art lessons in a public school. Today he devotes himself exclusively to his artistic practice.
