LAMINE

Technique: Tapestry

LAMINE

Trained in the workshops of his father Ibra Ndiaye "Les tapisseries Ibra" (The tapestries of Ibra), Lamine N’DIAYE continued to perfect his skills until 2002, as workshop and production manager. Lamine N’DIAYE is a visual artist using many materials. He created his own family structure "Les Lices du Futur".

His workshop allows him to present his works permanently, at the Socio Cultural Center Point E. His pictorial works represent landscapes, portraits, paintings or frescoes, going from figurative to abstract, combining creativity and a multitude of sources of inspiration. Thus, he moves away from purely visual data, he breaks down the elements of reality to replace them on the fabric in an aesthetic vision. The softer colors acquire more nuances, but the tone remains dark, in the image of the artist. Like the old masters, he has all the techniques related to his art: flat tints, reliefs, knotted stitches, fades, gradients.

He declares: "the trade is not stolen, it is learned." He participates in numerous exhibitions in Senegal and abroad. In particular, he participated in the Dakar Biennale in 2018 and 2014, in the exhibition Gale Maodo Amitié 2 and in the exhibition galérie les Arts du Soleil in 2018 and 2022. In 2012 and 2013 he created the Peace Corps logo to celebrate their 50 year anniversary of cooperation with Senegal.
