BOUBOU NDIAYE
Technique: Pottery
BOUBOU NDIAYE
Boubou is a self-taught artist, ceramist and sculptor who is making his way in the plastic arts sector. He is very creative and innovative in the process of making vases, his favorite field.
His exceptional ability to manipulate clay is a gift, but this has not prevented him from working with great masters in this field who have helped him to master his technique. Boubou has acquired a mastery of the techniques of creation based on clay, namely modeling, sculpture and throwing. His style of creating vases is a pure paradox because it is based on the deformation of forms which gives charm to his works and sets him apart from other ceramists in this country. The aspect of waxed leather that he sometimes gives to his pottery is quite surprising and original.
In just a few short years, Boubou has managed to make a name for himself in the world of ceramics. He has participated in several group exhibitions, notably in Dakar at the Grand Théâtre, the Monument de la Renaissance Africaine, the Village des Arts, Loman'Art, the Belgian Embassy and the Centre culturel Blaise Senghor. He has also exhibited in Toubab Dialaw and Mbour. Not to mention his participation in the International Day of African Art in Italy in 2019.
Today, Boubou shares his passion and know-how by giving introductory courses in the techniques of creating ceramic works.
