MANDOYE MBENGUE

Fatou Mandoye Mbengue is a visual artist who lives and works in Bargny, a commune on the south coast of the peninsula some thirty kilometers from Dakar. A graduate of the École Nationale des Arts de Dakar in 1999, she took part in the twinning of Swiss and Senegalese students. She went on to study painting at the École des Arts Visuels de Genève (2002-2005).

Mandoye is the winner of the Jean Paul Blachère foundation prize (Exhibition, tribute to Fatma Charfi) in 2019 and the winner of the Salon "Geew Bi" at the Institut Français de Dakar in 2020.

Impressed by the difficult moments that keep recurring in her life, her more figurative recent paintings are inspired by her childhood, Lebou ritual ceremonies and the relationship between man and his environment.
