MAGATTE TOURE
Magatte Toure holds a Visual Arts Diploma from the National School of Fine Arts in Dakar, class of 2005, in Artistic Expression. He is currently a teacher of Art and Screen Printing at the Aminata MBAYE Center in Grand Yoff (ASEDEME), an association for the protection of children with intellectual disabilities.
He wrote a dissertation on the habitat of Nomadic Maures/Moors: “plastic exploitation of accessories”. This theme has indeed guided his artistic sensibility further towards the environment, the human condition, and nature
Since then, Magatte has also worked and treated different themes which allowed him to prove his capability in terms of research, experimentation, and professional expression.
Through his work, we see a multitude of angles and a variety in the choice of materials, but also on the pictorial level, leading to the concept of “Nomad Art”.
Magatte has participated in many exhibitions, workshops and residencies.
Very moved by the subject of children with intellectual disabilities, Magatte is committed to supporting ASEDEME in its noble mission, giving him an opportunity to also transport this domain into his art.
