ASSANE GNING

Originally from Thiès, ASSANE GNING is a self-taught artist, who has studied calligraphy and is a member of the Artists’ Association of Senegal. His work is influenced by the schools of naive art, ‘sous-verre’ painting and the constant variety of daily life.

He has exhibited in France at The Mediatheque de Persan in Picardy, the International Museum of Naive Art in Nice, in South Korea at the Museum of African Art, and in Switzerland where he was awarded Le Prix d’Europe d’Art Primitif.

ASSANE GNING lives and works at Village des Arts in Dakar.
